Rural Fibre Co is driven by a simple but powerful mission: to bring the benefits of fibre broadband to regional Australia.
The company is founded and funded by Phillip Britt, a pioneer in Australia’s telecommunications industry, and the co-founder of Aussie Broadband.
With deep roots in Gippsland, we’re committed to transforming the digital landscape for communities often left behind by existing broadband rollouts.

Is fibre internet available at my address?You can check your address on our website (www.ruralfibre.co) to see if you're included in the current or future rollout areas. We're still building our network which means even though your property may be on the rollout plan, it might not yet be ready to connect.

When will fibre be built in my area?Rollout schedules vary by location and are subject to change. By checking your address you'll get an approximate timeline on when fibre will be available. You can also register your interest while you're there to ensure you receive the latest updates.

Do I need to pay to upgrade to fibre?If your property is included in our build zone, the upgrade to fibre will be offered at no cost during the construction phase through our initial rollout rebate. If you choose to not have fibre installed onto your property and wish to connect later down the track, there may be a fee involved.

Can I keep my current internet provider?If your internet provider offers the RFC Network then you'll be able to switch your connection directly over to fibre. If you're with a provider who does not offer the RFC Network then you can connect through one of our partners.

How fast is RFC fibre internet?RFC fibre offers high-speed plans ranging from 50/20 Mbps up to 2500/2500 Mbps depending on your provider and chosen plan. If you're looking for all the nitty gritty details of what makes fibre better than your standard internet, visit our tech page here.

What makes RFC different from other providers like NBN or Starlink?RFC delivers true fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP), offering symmetrical speeds up to 2.5Gbps, ultra-low latency, and consistent, weatherproof performance. Unlike wireless or satellite services, fibre isn’t affected by congestion, signal interference, or line-of-sight issues — and it’s built to scale with future demand. Starlink relies on low-earth orbit satellites, which means variable speeds and higher latency, especially during poor weather or obstructions. Fixed Wireless depends on towers and spectrum, making it prone to congestion, dropouts, and performance drops during peak times and weather events. We build and own our own fibre network — no reliance on other networks or third parties — which means better control, reliability, and performance. See our tech page for all the details.
